Disqualification by association’ changes being consulted on

The government has launched a consultation on changes to the current ‘disqualification by association’ arrangements – whereby a childcare worker can be disqualified from their role if someone who lives or works in their household is convicted of an offence that would bar them from working with children. The aim is to improve the fairness of the current arrangements. Three options are being consulted on, and the consultation closes on 1 July 2016.
